THE WISHBAIT GUIDE
Small objects that change a living room.
You do not have to replace furniture to change the mood of a room. Light, texture and a little playful detail can go a long way.
Start with the light
Before buying decorative pieces, try changing how light falls across the room. Indirect lighting can soften a space and draw attention to parts of it you already like.
Add a conversation piece
A miniature botanical display or unusual object works best when it has breathing room around it. One memorable accent can beat a shelf full of unrelated curiosities.
Consider where it will live
Measure shelf height and power-outlet location. Check whether a light needs an app, wireless connection or special plug.
Be selective
Keep the objects that make a room feel lived-in. Skip anything that is likely to become another thing to dust without adding pleasure.
