Playdate Handheld Console

A tiny yellow game console. Yes, it has a crank.

A pocket-sized handheld with a reflective monochrome screen and an actual crank on the side. It is an unusually playful alternative to the familiar handheld formula.

WHY IT CAUGHT OUR EYE

There is something refreshing about a device made to surprise you. The crank is not there to charge the battery: it is a real input that games can use.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Its screen is not backlit and its game library is intentionally different from mainstream handhelds. Check shipping availability with the maker.
